God's light brings clarity, hope, and transformation to our lives through the face of Christ.

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. —2 Corinthians 4:6

In Genesis, God’s first creative act was calling forth light from a dark, formless world. Life without God is just as dark—whether through ignorance or intent. Habits trip up our best plans, relationship conflicts stir our emotions, doubts weaken us, and fears hold us back in an increasingly unsettled world.

But God never intended for us to stumble through life blindly.

Though we cannot see God, we see him reflected in his Son. Jesus called people to turn from sin, yet he drew crowds with his kindness and acceptance (Luke 7:36–50; John 4). He prioritized people over rules and agendas (Luke 5:12–16; Mark 3:1–6). And those who encountered him were never the same (Luke 10:1–10).

As God’s light shines on us, he brings order out of chaos, freedom out of bondage, and hope out of despair. He is everything we long for—the opposite of everything we complain about in life.

The light is there. We only have to choose to see it. Is there an area where you need God’s light to shine?
